YOU ARE SOMEONE ELSE (TOO)

YOU ARE

SOMEONE

ELSE (TOO)

You Are Someone Else (Too) is an interactive performance game constructed by choreographers, Kristina Hay and Hilary Brown-Istrefi. The work delves into existential theories on behavior by playing with the influence of persona and environment over action. As the piece progresses so do the number of bodies on stage, juxtaposing the role of witness to participant.

Choreography by: Kristina Hay, Hilary Brown-Istrefi | HB² PROJECTS, and Jesse Salaman (guest)

Music Composed by: Lamy Istrefi (live); Julie's Theme (Assault on Precinct 13) by John Carpenter and Baiana (O Seguinte E Esse) by Barbatuques (recorded)

Performance by: Kristina Hay, Hilary Brown-Istrefi, Jesse Salaman (guest), and Lamy Istrefi (percussion)

You Are Someone Else (Too) was created during Norte Maar's Dance at Socrates Residency Program, in partnership with Socrates Sculpture Park. Dance at Socrates is made possible in part by the Mertz Gilmore Foundation, and is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
